Privacy policy

The short version

We collect very little. If you fill in our contact form, we get what you typed and we use it to reply to you. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read. We don’t sell personal information, we don’t buy it, and we don’t run advertising trackers on this site.

This policy is written to meet Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

What you send us. Our contact form asks for your name, email address, organization, what you’re interested in, and whatever you write in the message field. You choose what to put there. We only ask for what we need to reply usefully.

How the site gets used. Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, and general device and browser information. We use it in aggregate, to see which pages are worth keeping. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or cross-site remarketing.

Server logs. Our host records standard request information, including IP addresses, as part of operating and securing the site.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and this site is not directed at them.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, to provide services you’ve asked about, to understand how the site performs, and to keep it running securely. If we ever want to use your information for something materially different, we’ll ask you first.

We rely on your consent, which you give by choosing to send us a message. You can withdraw it at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits we’ll explain if they apply.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

• Formspree — processes and stores our contact form submissions, and forwards them to us by email.
• Google Analytics 4 — website analytics.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
• ScoreApp — runs our free AI assessment. That assessment lives on a separate site, and anything you enter there is handled under ScoreApp’s own privacy policy as well as ours.

We also use standard business tools such as email and calendaring to carry on the conversation after you get in touch.

Information stored outside Canada

The providers above are based in the United States or store data there. That means your personal information may be held outside Canada, and while it is, it can be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws of that country. We think you should know that plainly rather than find it in a footnote. If this is a concern for your organization, contact us and we can discuss handling your enquiry by other means.

How long we keep it

Contact form submissions and related correspondence are kept for as long as we have an active or reasonably foreseeable relationship with you, and then for as long as we need to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule. When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, we delete it or render it anonymous.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you, and how we’ve used it;
• correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete;
• delete it, where we’re not required to keep it;
• stop contacting you, or withdraw a consent you previously gave.

Email ai@nowofwork.com and we’ll respond within 30 days, which is the timeline PIPEDA sets. We may need to verify who you are before we act, particularly on a deletion request.

If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. We’d rather you came to us first, but that route is yours either way.

Cookies and opting out

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to tell repeat visits apart. There are no advertising or social media tracking cookies here.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on to stop Analytics collecting anything from you. The site works fine either way. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal; there is still no agreed standard for honouring it, so we don’t claim to respond to it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to enquiry data to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we won’t promise perfection. If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we’ll notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when what we do changes, and we’ll move the “last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll say so here rather than hoping you notice.
